Meet the Team

AUSTIN WILLIS

My mission is to develop high school jumpers who compete at a high level and understand how to grow, adapt, and own their performance. I coach with the mindset that technical skill, mental resilience, and athlete well-being must work together to unlock true potential.

As a certified USATF Level 1 coach and current jumps coach at Montclair High School, I specialize in long and triple jump development, with proven results at the state and national levels. But what sets my approach apart is how I teach athletes to connect the dots between mechanics, mindset, and confidence.

Whether it's fixing a fouling issue, rebuilding approach rhythm, or navigating performance anxiety, I believe every athlete deserves clear, intentional, and rooted-in-trust coaching. I work closely with athletes and their families to create a plan that addresses physical performance and emotional growth because a confident athlete is a dangerous one.

This means:

  • Teaching movement, not just prescribing drills

  • Prioritizing consistent progress, not quick fixes

  • Building open lines of communication — so athletes feel seen, supported, and empowered every step of the way.

At the core of my coaching is a belief in the champion’s mindset — a daily commitment to discipline, accountability, and self-belief that athletes can carry beyond sport.
